Abstract

The syndrome of pelvic congestion in men and women is difficult for diagnosis and can be the cause of chronic diseases of the genitourinary system: recurrent varicocele, chronic prostatitis, polycystic ovary, chronic pelvic pain. Dissatisfaction with the results of surgical and endovascular treatment and the development of visualization methods makes it necessary once again to analyze the anatomy of the venous system of the small pelvis and possible causes of the outflow in the iliac vein system. The most common May–Turner syndrome occurs in women and little is known that in men this syndrome can be the cause of such diseases as chronic pelvic pain, recurrent varicocele, erectile dysfunction.
